Helium is the chemical element with atomic number 2.  It is represented by the symbol He.  It is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, inert monatomic gas that heads the noble gas group in the periodic table. Its boiling point (-452 F) and melting point (-458 F) are the lowest among the elements and it exists only as a gas except in extreme conditions.  Next to hydrogen, it is the second most abundant element in universe, and accounts for 24% of the elemental mass of our galaxy.  Because of its extreme, non-reactive inertness, its lightness and its superconducting liquid phase, ultra low temperature, Helium has many important application uses in industry (protective gas) and healthcare imaging (MRI).  Helium is exclusively produced by gas phase separation from natural gas at a select few Helium-rich gas fields.
